Congratulations — You’ve Just Taken the First Step
Welcome aboard! Whether you are brand new to the world of Applied Behavior Analysis
(ABA) or you have been working in the sector for years and are now ready to formalize
your credentials, you are in exactly the right place. This handbook is your friendly co-pilot
for the entire journey ahead — from the moment you log in to the day you add “RBT” to
your professional profile.
About Jigsaw Trust and Jigsaw Training
Jigsaw Training is the online learning arm of Jigsaw Trust, a UK-based charity dedicated to
supporting autistic children and adults. Founded on the belief that everyone deserves
access to high-quality, evidence-based education and care, Jigsaw Trust runs a specialist
day school, adult services, and vocational programs in Surrey, England.
Our mission is simple: to make professional-quality behavior-analytic training accessible to
anyone, anywhere, regardless of their financial circumstances. That is why the core 40-
hour RBT 3.0 course is offered entirely free of charge. If you decide you want the additional
support of a Certificate of Completion, Study Guide, mock exams, and a Course Completion
Review, you can upgrade to the optional Certification Pack at any time. There is no
pressure, no hidden subscription, and no penalty for staying on the free track.
While Jigsaw Trust is a UK-registered charity, the RBT credential you are pursuing is issued
by the BACB and is valid anywhere the BACB certifies.
A Note on Independence
This training program is designed to meet the 2026 training eligibility requirement for RBT
certification. The training is offered independent of the BACB. We are a third-party training
provider who follows the RBT 2026 40-Hour Training Requirements and Curriculum
Outline, but we are not owned, operated, or directly endorsed by the BACB. Your certificate
will carry a statement to this effect, which is exactly what the BACB requires. When you are
ready to apply for the actual credential, you will do so directly through the BACB’s online
gateway.
How to Use This Handbook
You do not need to read this guide cover-to-cover in one sitting. Many learners dip in and
out as questions arise. We recommend:
1. Skim Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 before you start your first lesson — this gives you
the “big picture” of how the course is organized.
2. Keep Chapter 3 handy while you study so you understand why each activity is
structured the way it is.
3. Review Chapter 4 whenever you want to check whether you are on pace to finish
within the 180-day window.
