Job description

Purpose of the document- The purpose of a job description is to show what the main duties
and responsibilities are and what is expected of the employee. It also shows important
information that the candidate should know, such as, location, working hours, wages and
other terms of the contract. Once the candidate has reviewed all this information, they can
then decide whether or not the job position is right for them. Furthermore, a job description
also allows the recruitment staff to ensure that they find the right person for the job, as if
some duties were missed off then the candidate may not like it so they wouldn’t have
applied in the first place.

role. It also benefits the employer as they won’t have to waste time on interviewing
candidates who don’t possess the required skills in the first place. For example, if this was a
job role at a large company like Tesco or Apple, they may get hundreds of applicants for one
job role but if a tough person specification is added then this could get the number of
applicants down to less than one hundred.

Curriculum vitae

Purpose of the document- The purpose of a CV is to allow the applicant to display all the
qualifications, achievements, and experience they have as well as a more personal level of
information, like what is your personality? A CV is also used to show the employer what
they have to offer that makes them stand out. The recruitment staff will then use this to
