These illustrations should be distinct (separate) from your descriptions of the parenting styles - Answer ️Baumrind described 4 parenting styles: authoritarian, authoritative, permissive, and neglectful. Responsiveness is how responsive a parent is to their child's needs. Demandingness is how much a parent asks of their particular child. In the authoritarian parenting style, the parent is incredibly strict. The parent places high expectations on the child with little responsiveness. An example of this would be when a parent says, "because I said so" in response to a child asking why they need to do a certain task. The parent does not allow for the child to question the task or express their opinion. In the authoritative parenting style, the parents are responsive and nurturing, yet set firm expectations for their child. An example of this would be when the parent allows their child to express their opinions on a task that the parent has set out for them. They allow for open communication and are responsive to hearing their child's perspective on a certain issue. In the permissive parenting style, the parent has low demands and high responsiveness. An example of this would be if a parent let's their child stay up late even if they know he/she needs to get up early in the morning for school. In the neglectful parenting style, the parent is unresponsive to their child's needs. An example of this would be when their child is struggling with an emotional issue, such as bullying at school, the parent is unable to provide warmth or support. Compare and contrast Gross Motor and Fine Motor skills. What are the differences between the two types of skills? Also, give an example of a Gross Motor skill and a Fine Motor skill that occurs in early childhood. - Answer ️Gross motor skills refer large muscle group development such as arms or legs. An example of this might be kicking or jumping. Verses fine motor refers to the development of small muscle groups such as the hands or wrists. An example would be writing or coloring.
