, TUTORIAL GRADING POLICY

Tutorial sessions are worth a total of 9 points. Tutorials will be held each week of the semester with
the exception of the weeks of Fall Break (18/20 October) and Thanksgiving (22/24 November). Tutorial
sessions will be held the first week of classes (23/25 August). The thirteen sessions will be worth one
point each and THE LOWEST FOUR SCORES WILL BE DROPPED.

Points are awarded for attending the sessions, “attending” being defined as arriving to the tutorial in a
timely manner and staying for the duration of the session.

Signing an attendance sheet for another student and allowing another student to sign one’s name
on an attendance sheet for them are violations of Section 10.1.F ("Misrepresentation") of the LSU
Code of Student Conduct. All violations of the Code will be reported to the office of Student
Advocacy and Accountability.

Students MUST attend the tutorial section in which they are enrolled to receive credit. No section
substitutions are possible—NO EXCEPTIONS.

MISSED TUTORIAL/MAKE-UP POLICY

A missed tutorial session will be given a grade of zero points, unless the course (NOT tutorial)
instructor is notified IN WRITING PRIOR to the session and the excuse is an officially approved
and fully documented one. The definition of “officially approved” can be found in LSU policy statement
PS-22. Email (see policy below) is the preferred method of written contact. Independently verifiable
documentation must be presented to the course (NOT tutorial) instructor IN PERSON no later than seven
(7) school days after the missed session for the lab to be considered excused. In addition, all
documentation must be in its original form; electronic and/or photocopied documents will not be
accepted.

Tutorial sessions cannot be made up—NO EXCEPTIONS. Instead the point from the missed
session, if excused, will be added to the value of the final exam to compensate. No extra credit
work is possible.

EMAIL POLICY

Students’ initial point of contact for all grading issues is the course (NOT tutorial) instructor.
Students’ initial point of contact for all other issues, including questions about session material, is the
tutorial instructor.

Only emails that are signed with your full name will be answered. Please put the course name,
number, and section (e.g., ECON 2030-013) in the subject line of your email to ensure that it will be read
and responded to in a timely manner. Do not, under any circumstance, include your LSUID is any email
correspondence.
