-Reduce morbidity of surgery
-Increase Quality but decrease cost
-Return patient to desirable functioning ASAP post
operatively

-Admit morning of
-Tests done only if will results will change
anesthetic plan or outcome
-Premedications orally, IV, intranasal
-Eval increasingly becoming anesthesia’s role
-Focus more on Perioperative care

History of diabetes, hypertension, and a previous
stroke presenting for an AV fistula.
