Vision
= have a view on the future developments in the industry or a definition of what company wants to
be in the future. A vision describes what a company wants to be. ‘where do we go for’
Inspire and create enthusiasm
Gives an inspiring, challenging and dynamic view on the future
Gives guidance: Where does the company want to go in the future?
Answer the question: What do we want to reach in the coming 3 till 5 years?
The vision should motivate all the employees of the company
Each year a vision can be reviewed if necessary
Mission
= describe "what" they want to do, "for whom", "why", as well as "how" this can contribute to the
vision of the future. A mission gives the reason for existence and the identity of a company. ‘where
do we stand for’
Not only for multinationals
Every entrepreneur should start to determine their mission
Make choices in what you will do and what you will certainly not do
It will make your company unique = USP (unique selling proposition)
Long-term
Goal that you want to reach within the near future
Relevance of the mission
o Gives direction to determine the vision
o Helps to build the business plan
o Helps to establish the internal business processes
