Catalog Course Description
This clinical course continues to look at the complexity of disease and focuses on
the care of adults needing complex restorative and maintenance interventions in
the area of critical care. Prerequisites: All 300-level Nursing courses completed.
Time Allocation
NUR 405 Credit Hour Distribution (2 credit hours didactic) 45 X 2 = 90
hours & (2 credit hours lab/clinical): 45 X 2 = 90 hours. Total of 180 hours
minimum required.

medical-surgical nursing. Philadelphia: Wolters Kluwer/Lippincott Williams &
Wilkins. ISBN-13: 978-1975168285 (This is the ISBN for the hard copy textbook.
The hard-copy textbook is not required, you will have access to the e-book
that comes in the bundle for Course Point+, which can be found in the
electronic readings section).
• ATI texts: Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pharmacology, Nutrition
Access to Electronic Readings:

text required for this course, as well as PrepU and vSim which are included in
the bundle.
All students will be held responsible for completing all of the readings and
any activities as assigned, prior to the class period.

ECG calipers are recommended for this course.
