Numeracy Numeracy is the knowledge, skills, behaviors and dispositions that students
need in order to use mathematics in a wide range of situations.
Receptive Language The language that a child can understand, often refers to language that the
child hears from an outside source, like another person or even television

from ages 11 and up, children can think abstractly and test predictions

says children learn through observation of others and imitation of behavior
and will imitate behavior of others that is rewarded.
Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) A school-wide program that seeks to teach children positive behaviors
through behavioral intervention and the encouragement of positive behaviors.
