DPR2605 POE ASSESSMENT SEMESTER 1 2026 E-PORTFOLIO_2026/S1 INTRODUCTION [2.5] The introduction must provide a general overview of each topic that was discussed in this Assessment. While writing the introduction, a logical flow of ideas needs to be maintained. The introduction should NOT have been written in bullet format, but rather in essay format. PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENT QUESTION – GBVF CAMPAIGN The United Nations General Assembly has designated 25 November International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is an initiative that was launched with the aim to eliminate violence against women because violence against women and girls remains one of the most prevalent and pervasive human rights violations in the world. According to United Nations (2025), “globally, almost one in three women have been subjected to physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both, at least once in their life.” South Africa experiences some of the world's highest levels of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF), with the rate at which women are killed five times higher than the global average (United Nations; 2025), a clear indication that we need more intervention campaigns to combat this crisis. As a PR practitioner you are asked to use the DOTMABE formula to develop a GBVF awareness and educational campaign that is targeted at 50 – 65-year-old men in your chosen South African rural community (you need to specify). The campaign needs to educate the target audience about the national GBVF crisis in South Africa and raise awareness about strategies to fight against this crisis. The campaign must be translated for digital media, and you are allocated a period of two-weeks to do this campaign. In your campaign, highlight the strategies you will use to meet this targeted audience, campaign strategies, communication tools, campaign activities, and what evaluation tools you will use in this campaign. The allocated budget will be R3 million, so you need to include a breakdown of how this budget will be utilized in your campaign. The budget needs to be presented in a table format. The DOTMABE formula includes the following steps: defining the problem, setting the objectives, target groups, developing the message, activities, budget, review and evaluation. We want to see that students applied each step in the process according to the formula. Please use sub-headings, NOT numbering in your answer so the marker can easily access your answer. TIPS: • Please check the Structure for Portfolio Document for a step-by-step breakdown of what is expected from students in this assessment and check the mark rubric for the mark allocation breakdown. • You already have feedback from assessment 1 about the campaign you created there. Use this feedback as you develop a campaign for the portfolio. (We have uploaded the lesson feedback on these assessments for you to use and correct your work, check under lesson recording folder). 3 DPR2605-26-S1 – PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENT 2026 • Please look at the marking rubric (under additional resources) to see how the marks will be allocated for this section. • You are strongly discouraged from Googling other nutrition educational or awareness campaigns, apply yourself in this portfolio and you will do well. You will be FAILED and REPORTED for disciplinary action if we find that you plagiarized. • Any use of AI generated content will also result in the student being reported for disciplinary action Subtotal: 72 Marks CONCLUSION [2.5] Your conclusion must summarise the discussion in your assessment, NOT just the conclusion for the campaign. Tutorial Letter CMNALLE/301 contains guidelines on writing a conclusion.
