Human Physiology Notes – Week 1
Introduction to Human Physiology.
Physiology – investigating how cells, tissue and organism’s function.
Organisation of the Body.
Chemical level – atoms combine to form molecules.
->
Cellular level – cells are made up of molecules i.e. smooth muscle cell.
->
Tissue level – tissue consists of similar types of cells i.e. smooth muscle tissue.
->
Organ level – organs are made up of different types of tissue i.e. blood vessel (organ).
->
Organ system level – organ systems consist of different organs that work together closely i.e.
cardiovascular system.
->
Organismal level – the human organism is made up of many organ systems.
Neurons and Nerve Tissue.
Transmit and produce signals for communication.
