Hello Mr. Thomas,
I hope you are doing well today. I understand you have recently become aware that the
team you assigned to draft the new policy for employee sick leave is not meeting the set
milestones, and a few employees are feeling disgruntled. We want to find a solution to motivate
the employees by identifying the reason for the lack of motivation and come up with a mutual
agreement between staff and management. Harvard Business Review states, “When a task
doesn't connect with or contribute to something workers value, they won't be motivated to do it
(4 Reasons Good Employees Lose Their Motivation, 2019).” Some reasons to consider
motivation wavering are mismatched values, lack of self-efficacy, and disruptive emotions.
Mismatched values happen when what an employee cares about does not connect to the
task. Talk with the team and find out what they care about and how it links with the job. These
conversations should help identify employee cares and values and how they relate to their tasks.
Another reason motivation wavers' is because the employee doesn't feel like they can accomplish
the task, so they will not be motivated to do the job. Help your employees by building their
