A.) Describing the location of each body part Pharynx – is the throat and is located after the mouth and before the esophagus. Esophagus – is located in your throat near your trachea (windpipe). It connects the throat to the stomach. Liver – is located above the stomach and above the gallbladder. Stomach– is located below the liver and connected to the bottom of the esophagus. Gallbladder – is located under the liver and next to the stomach. Pancreas – is located directly under the stomach on the other side of the gallbladder. Transverse colon – is underneath the pancreas and gallbladder and connects the small intestine to the rectum. This is also the top-most part of the large intestine. Descending colon- is a lower section of the large intestine located below the transverse colon on the opposite side. Small intestine – is located directly below the transverse colon and between the descending colon and above the rectum. Ascending colon- is part of the large intestine extending downward on one side next to the small intestine. Appendix – is located at the bottom of the ascending colon. Rectum – is located at the bottom of the transverse colon and in the lower middle of the body above the anal canal.
