Rational Basis Test
Used when testing if a law is unconstitutional. To test the constitutionality of a law
through this test, there must be a rational connection between the purpose of the
law and the government's efforts to justify it. It beings with the burden on the
challenger, then assumes the law is constitutional, then the plaintiff must prove
that the law lacks an irrational basis. It is meant to prove the law is congruent with
the Constitution.
