diffraction grating (required practical activity 2).
Light from a laser is shone onto the diffraction grating at normal incidence.

A piece of squared paper is positioned parallel to the diffraction
grating. Figure 1 shows the pattern of four bright spots A, B, C and D
that are seen on the paper.
