When doing research, our focus is determining
whether the author has CREDIBILITY and PERSUASIVE
EFFECTIVELY set up his/her argument.
We know that a good, effective argument EFFECTIVE
includes:
● Organized evidence Just because a person uses sophisticated language,
● Statistics, Data or the rhetorical device PATHOS to draw you in…
● Surveying other professionals / experts don’t be fooled! A writer's ability to write
eloquently, or speak about themselves/experience
● Conducting an actual experiment with results
does not build their ARGUMENT!
● **A credible researcher who specializes in the
field** Without credibility, you have nothing!
