The scientific method is a series of steps followed by scientific investigators to answer
specific questions about the natural world. The steps of the scientific method are as
Observation, Question, Hypothesis, Experiment, Results, Conclusion.
1) Explain the term “science” in your own words. (2 pts)
Science is the art of analyzing and understanding the world around us through
observation and methodology.
2) Make your own observations about something around you. It could be something in
your house that is happening, something you see outside your window, something
you remember seeing on campus. For each observation, write a hypothesis about
WHY the thing you observed happened. Finally, write and explanation of how you
would test your hypothesis. Please do this for three observations and fill in the table.
