This paper consists of ten (10) pages.
Instructions:
1. Scan the QR code on page 3 or enter the code [TBA] on The Invigilator App before you start the
examination.
2. Students who do not adhere to the invigilation or proctoring procedures will be deemed to have
violated Unisa’s examination rules and their marks will be withheld. If a student is found to have
been outside The Invigilator App (by exiting or minimising The Invigilator App) for a total of ten
minutes during their examination session, they will be considered to have violated Unisa’s
examination rules and their marks will be withheld.
3. The QR code will be available for activation 15 minutes before the starting time and 30 minutes
after the official starting time of the examination. If you scan the QR code outside of this time
window, you will not be able to start the exam. If you scan the QR code after 14:45, you will not
be allowed to continue with the exam.
4. Students have 48 hours from the day of their examination to upload their invigilation results from
The Invigilator App. Failure to do so will result in students deemed not to have participated in the
online invigilation.
5. During the exam you are allowed to access all material shared and discussed on myUnisa, your
prescribed book or any notes, as well as any of your own desk research. However, you are not
allowed to copy verbatim (directly) from myUnisa or any other sources. You are required to provide
answers in your own words. If cheating or plagiarism is detected, your script will be
submitted for disciplinary action and no marks will be awarded. Plagiarism is a violation of
academic integrity. Students who plagiarise or copy verbatim from published work will be in
violation of Unisa’s Policy on Academic Integrity and the Student Disciplinary Code, and may be
subjected to disciplinary processes. Unisa has zero tolerance for plagiarism and all other forms
of academic dishonesty.
6. The examination paper can be downloaded from the myExams website on Thursday, 23
January 2025, from 14:00, and your answer script must be uploaded by Thursday, 23 January
2025, at 18:15. Should you complete your examination before the official completion time, please
commence the uploading of your examination answer file immediately. Do not wait for the
session to conclude.
7. The system will close at 18:15 on Thursday, 23 January 2025 (South African time), and all late
submissions will be rejected. NO late examination answer files will be accepted.

Incorrect file formats, password-protected documents, scanned images and uncollated answer
scripts will not be marked.
10. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they have uploaded the correct document.
Uploading this question paper or an incorrect file will result in failure.
11. NO e-mailed answer files will be accepted under any circumstances.
12. Your assignment will be submitted through Turnitin. This will be done automatically, but you
must accept the Turnitin EULA (end-user license agreement). If you do not accept the
Turnitin EULA, your submission will NOT be marked.
13. Number your answers clearly.
14. Read the questions carefully before answering – make sure you understand what is being
asked.
15. Answers must be set out in a systematic and logical way. Use appropriate headings and
subheadings – this is very important.
16. Justify your answers in a practical way. Markers focus on practical applications and the logic of
your argument, which count more than theory.
17. Students are permitted to resubmit their answer files during the exam time should their initial
submission be unsatisfactory.
18. The mark awarded for an incomplete submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity
for resubmission will be granted.
19. Only the last answer file uploaded and submitted within the stipulated submission duration
period will be marked.
20. Students must complete the online declaration of own work when submitting their answer files.
Students suspected of dishonest conduct during the examinations will be subjected to
disciplinary processes. Students may not communicate with other students or request assistance
from any other persons during examinations.
21. Listening to audio (music) and using audio-to-text software are strictly prohibited during your
examination session unless such software usage is related to a student’s assistive device that
has been so declared. Failure to adhere to this requirement will be a transgression of Unisa’s
examination rules and the student’s marks will be withheld.
22. Non-adherence to the processes for uploading examination responses will not qualify the student
for any special concessions or future assessments.
23. Queries that are beyond Unisa’s control include the following:
• personal network or service provider issues
• load shedding
• limited space on personal computer
• crashed computer
• using work computers that block access to the myExams site (work firewall challenges)
• unlicensed software (e.g. licenses that expire during the examination)
24. Students who experience technical challenges should contact and copy
the lecturer at immediately, and include screenshots of the challenge that
they are experiencing.
