, A. Analyze the internal organizational aspects of the company from the scenario by doing
the following:
A1. Based on the Competing Values Framework, the US Fishing Boat
Manufacturer is a clan-based culture. I feel the Clan-based culture is an advantage because
everyone is respected and appreciated as well as leadership is cultivating internally by training
people and helping them develop their skills and traits. When employees feel valued and
appreciated, they will work harder.
A2. Discuss in detail whether the organizational structure is an advantage or
disadvantage to the company and explain why.
The company has a decentralized organizational structure- this is known as a team-
based network. This is a newer concept and allows for more flexibility and
synchronization between team members. Although everyone is contributing towards
a common goal; I believe this to be a disadvantage to this company. With a team-
based network, the workload is often unevenly distributed, which I believe can cause
stress between co-workers, especially if one is contributing a substantial amount of
time and energy and another is doing very little. There is also very little organization
within the group and projects could take longer because tasks are being repeated due
to not having a lead.
A3. Describe in detail how each of the following organizational aspects in the scenario
influences how the company makes strategic decisions:
A. Organization Culture: employs a highly collaborative decision-making process.
Throughout this internal effort, an array of input is considered. This includes feedback from
founders, internal employees, industry professionals, and more. The company values each of
these diverse opinions. The decision-making process takes all of these into consideration. This
process ensures all inputs are considered and decisions are carefully considered because each
decision equally affects all collaborator
B. structure organization: The company has a flat and decentralized structure. This impacts
decision-making because employees always have access to the founders. This is essential for
relationship building and collaboration. In the environment of this company, decisions are made
by considering the thoughts and ideas of all employees equally. Therefore, decisions and
outcomes equally affect everyone. This is an advantage that is positive for the boat manufacturer.
This structure supports consideration of the ideas and opinions of employees and founders,
which means diverse opinions and innovative ideas from both founders and employees, with
varied backgrounds and experiences, will shape the outcomes of important decisions
