There are many different ways to identify and plan training needs for your staff. Within Elior
for those who have not been with the company are required to perform there ‘e-learning’
training before commencing work within the unit.

The three basic training schedules you are required to complete are

1. First Steps to Safety
2. Health and Safety
3. Allergens

These provide the framework of what is expected and allow you to safely commence work within
our kitchens.

Furthering on from this additional training such as ‘Cosh’ is required by law when working with
cleaning chemicals within the unit.

To help decide on which training staff need we must

 Look at the current skills level of our staff
 Identify the skills/ knowledge gaps within the business
 Decide which new skills could take the business or employee forward
 Plan appropriate training to bridge gaps in the business
 Comply with laws on new training materials
 Apply training for employees who are under performing and not meeting Eliors standards
 Offer support through training where needed



Review and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the
development/training undertaken.
The goal of corporate training is not only to see a return on the investment of training but to
improve the skills set of employees.

It is important to measure the effectiveness of any training that may have been given and this
can be done through

 Post training quizzes
 1-1 discussions
 Employee surveys
 Participant case studies
 Test score results
 Evaluation of applied learning projects
 Course completion and Certification
