History of Present Illness (HPI):

Carson Meyer is a 12-year-old male who presents with a sore throat that began 2 days ago. The
pain is described as sharp and constant, rated 6/10, and worsens with swallowing. He reports
fever up to 101.5°F, fatigue, and headache. His parent reports decreased appetite but adequate
fluid intake.

He denies cough, rhinorrhea, hoarseness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or rash. No recent antibiotic
use. Several classmates were recently ill with similar symptoms.
