= de biologische mechanismen van het gedrag

2. DE ANATOMIE VAN HET ZENUWSTELSEL
2.1. FUNCTIONELE INDELING VAN HET ZENUWS TELSEL
Centraal zenuwstelsel = hersenen en ruggenmerg
Perifere zenuwstelsel = craniale en ruggenmergzenuwen
Functionele indeling:

• Centraal zenuwstelsel staat in voor de verwerking van inkomende en uitgaande informatie
• Perifere zenuwstelsel → geleiden van sensorische en motorische informatie tussen het CZ en het lichaam
o Afferente zenuwstelsel
▪ Stuurt sensorische info vanaf receptoren naar het CZ
• Somatische receptoren → registreert gewaarwordingen van de buitenwereld en
positie lichaamsdelen → we zijn hiervan bewust
• Viscerale reseptoren → registreert ingewande parameters → niet bewust
o Efferente zenuwstelsel (= motorisch van aard)
▪ Geleidt motorische info vanaf het CZ naar de uitvoeringsorganen
• Somatische zenuwstelsel → bewuste aansturing van spieren → (on)willekeurige
bewegingen
• Automatische zenuwstelsel → automatische processen
o Parasympatisch zenuwstelsel → lichamelijke en geestelijke rust (zoals
vertering)
o Symatisch zenuwstelsel → stress reacties (zoals fight or flight)

2.2.1. MACRO-ANATOMIE VAN HET ZENUWSTELSEL
HET PERIFERE ZENUWSTELSEL
Het perifere zenuwstelsel verbindt de neuronen van het centrale zenuwstelsel met de rest van het lichaam (zowel
sensorische als motorische informatie). Bundels axonen vormen samen de perifere zenuwen, onderverdeeld in de
craniale en de ruggenmergzenuwen. Naast de somatische (bewuste) zenuwen is er ook het autonome (onbewuste)
zenuwstelsel.

De Nervus Vagus is een belangrijk deel van het parasympatisch zenuwstelsel
RUGGENMERGZENUWEN EN PLEXUSSEN
De ruggenmergzenuwen zijn 31 paar zenuwen die aftakken van het ruggenmerg → ingedeeld aan de hand van de
locatie waar ze ontspringen, de plek waar ze ontspringen is in de opening tussen de wervels = foramen vertebrale
• 8 paar cervicale
• 12 paar thoracale
• 5 paar lumbale
• 5 paar sacrale
• 1 paar coccygiale
