Unfortunately, we all suffer distress at times, and our mental health can suffer. What insights can psychology offer? This module introduces the range of mental health conditions and therapy approaches recognised by clinical psychologists and psychiatrists and illustrates them with video clips and first-person accounts. These notes helped me get a 2:1.

To provide an introduction to three key areas of psychology: developmental psychology, individual differences and social psychology. Also, to provide an overview of their history, to illustrate their inter-relationships by examining contemporary issues. These notes helped me receive a high 2:1 in the exam for this module.

This module gives students the opportunity to learn about how psychology has been used to make a difference in the real world. Topics may include the application of psychology in the fields of health, education and clinical settings.
