This is a summary of the first finance and accounting course of the international business course at Fontys. Various topics are discussed, such as: financial statement, time value of money, equity financing, debt financing, and ratio analysis.

This short document covers those topics of the financial statements that many students do wrong. I tried really hard to provide easy-to-understand explanations. In the end, a thorough step to step guide is given on how to calculate each post of the closing balance sheet. This document only covers the concepts of chapter 1 in the book.
