Overzicht van verschillende mogelijkheden voor preventie van psychische stoornissen
tijdens de ontwikkeling en ondersteuning vanuit literatuur. Vervolgens bespreken we de
mogelijke beperkingen van deze benaderingen en mogelijke manieren om ze te
overwinnen.
Introduction
Hoewel de belangstelling voor vroegtijdige opsporing van psychische stoornissen
toeneemt, is de kennis van risicofactoren en ontwikkelingstrajecten nog niet op grote schaal
toegepast in de klinische praktijk en de volksgezondheid
Prevention in Mental Health
Preventieve interventies
- zijn erop gericht de incidentie, prevalentie en herhaling van psychische stoornissen
en de daarmee gepaard gaande handicaps te verminderen
- wijzigen risicoblootstelling en versterken de coping mechanismen van individuen
- identificeren causale risicofactoren
- zijn gericht op zowel generieke risicofactoren als ziektespecifieke factoren.
Dit artikel focust met name op ‘primary preventive interventions’ → het aanpakken van
risicofactoren en het bevorderen van de geestelijke gezondheid bij personen zonder een
