In this assignment I will explain the purpose of different software utility’s and how they could benefit
Ads4U, and how they can effect the performance of the computer. I will also be recommending a
computer system for a given business purpose. Finally I will justify why I chose the recommendations
that I recommended to the business.

Security:
Antivirus software: Antivirus software, sometimes referred to as anti-malware software, is designed
to detect, prevent and act to disarm or remove malicious software from your computer, such as
viruses , worms and Trojan horses or any other malware. It can also block or uninstall unauthorised
spyware and adware in addition to other forms of malicious programmes. So, it basically protects
your computer from harmful software’s. antivirus software must be purchased to be used some
operating systems such as windows 10 already come with an antivirus software but others do not,
and they can be quite expensive. An example of an antivirus software would be Norton this is the
name of the company that provides the antivirus software. To install the antivirus software, you
would have to visit the Norton website a purchase the software and follow the steps that they
provide. If you downloaded the antivirus program on the Internet, find the downloaded file on your
computer. If the downloaded file is a zip file, unzip the file to extract and access the installation files.
Look for a file named setup.exe, install.exe, or something similar, then double-click that file. The
installation process should start, with a window opening to help guide you through the install
process.

The anti-virus improves the performance of a computer in many ways, one way is the anti-virus
scans specific files or directories for any malware or known malicious patters, it will then allow the
user to start a scan of a particular file or also the entire computer it will try to defend against the
known threats through what are called signatures or against suspicious behaviour. It is ultimately
about repelling malicious attacks which may result in slow computer performance, lost data, system
downtime or other negative outcomes. So initially the antivirus will improve the performance of the
computer by making it work faster as it reduces the threat level of viruses.
Firewall: Firewall is a network monitoring system that determines if the incoming and outgoing
network is secure to use on the basis of certain security laws, and also prohibits data from accessing
a private network or a suspicious network. An example of a firewall company would be TotalAV and
MacPhee. Firewall is a protection mechanism that can secure your network by filtering traffic and
blocking unauthorised access to your computer's private data, using your computer's hardware or
software. To access the fire wall, on windows (windows 7) operating systems you will have to open
the control panel then click the system and control panel, click the windows firewall heading. Then a
new window will appear giving you the option to turn on or off the firewall.

The firewall improves the performance of the computer as it does not let in viruses and other
harmful malware onto the computer. It works silently in the background monitoring and incoming
and outgoing internet and network traffic. So, the firewall is another security software to help keep
the computer working at the right speed by blocking hackers and viruses from entering computers.
