This class consists of fifty-eight Havo students between the ages of thirteen and fourteen. The language proficiency of this group is B1 leve
These students have not had a speaking communicative lesson yet . The school works in modules, and the English module in the first perio
writing module. In this period, the focus is also on writing and reading.
• Learning Goals (based on B1 can-do statement):
B1 can-do statement :
Having a conversation, interviewing and being interviewed”: the students can use a prepared questionnaire to con
structured interview with some spontaneous follow-up questions, the student can express thoughts on more abstrac
cultural topics such as movies and books.
Speaking “monologue”: the student can describe an experience, can retell the plot of a book or movie and describe
or her opinion.
By the end of the lesson:
1. Students will have used the right English vocabulary and expressions to provide information and express their opinion
the book of their choice , by interviewing each other about the theme, the setting, and the main characters.
2. Students will have created a video commercial in which they have used the right expressions to convince their audie
read their chosen book.
3. Students will have given each other feedback on their spoken performance by filling in a peer-feedback form.
