It is the responsibility of anybody working in a real-life job to constantly learn and
improve their skills to blend in with the ever-changing complexities in life. Since people cannot
work while studying in a classroom setting, performance support learning comes in handy with
the current learning to boost the employee's skills and capabilities in any organization. According
to Bielawski (2003), performance support is informal learning which is skill-based learning in an
organization whereby employees are given additional information relevant to their positions in
the organization. It helps employees deal with issues they encounter in their daily routines and
help them increases their job performance.
Problem/ issue identification
The issues lie in implementing the program (performance support) in the organization.
Performance support in improving learning in organizations increases an organization's overall
performance, unlike traditional/formal learning, where people are taught theory without practical
learning. The central issue in this case study is the fact that there is a great controversy between
traditional/formal and informal learning. Issues employees face while handling their jobs does
not depend much on traditional ways of learning because the issues are on a real-life situation
and performance support have to intervene to boost the performance of an organization through
the implementation of the program. The central assumption about the facts in this cases study is
that performance support learning in organizations increases the overall performance and
effectiveness of the organization than traditional ways of learning. A sub-issue in this program of
performance support is that most companies have not instilled the learning programs in their
employees' phones for ready as easy access.
