MODULE 1.4 SUMMARY ASSIGNMENT BUSINESS LAW ETHICS 2 Business Law Ethics Ethics and Business Decision-making should go hand in hand. The reading teaches us that originally, the only goal or duty of a corporation was to maximize profits. (Miller, R. L., (2016), p. 54). The same stands today in industry, corporations, and business, the ultimate goal is to make still a profit despite the views of people deeming it greedy and inhumane. (Miller, R. L., (2016), p. 54). As this view of corporations, industry, and business exist is why ethics and laws are so important. Ethics and laws associated with ethics have been put in place to protect the populace, the consumer, the employee, and the employer. These laws keep honest people honest when ethical decisions come into play. It is written “ethics is important in making business decision. Corporations should strive to be good citizens when making decisions”. (Miller, R. L., (2016), p. 54). The author further breaks this down into four principles such as legal implications, impact on public relation, safety and risk, and financial implications. (Miller, R. L., (2016), p. 54).
