, P1: Examine, using examples, the terms ‘business process’ and ‘Supporting
processes’


Business Process: A business process is a series of steps performed by group
of stakeholders to achieve a concrete goal. These steps are often repeated many
times sometimes by multiple users and ideally in a standardized and optimized
way. In simple terms we can say it is a set of activity to complete a specific task
of a company.
Example: In our organization let’s consider marketing process. We will find
this issue in every marketing department. To understand marketing process can
rather be hectic unless we know the process. There will be writers, designers
and web developer, all working together to make this easy to understand we can
use tableau software to break down work flow.


Types of Business Processes:
 Compliance: As a business intelligence analytics we are keeping a safety
audit and a legal check in our eBay company
 Logistic: Smooth functioning of distribution channels, effective reserve
logistics and quick supply.
 Human Resource: HR services allot right person to the right job that
may include knowledge of area also effective customer server to address
the issue and grievance of customers
 Customer Friendly: To make it convenient for customer to check the
website and have all detail of the product and can check out easily.


Supporting processes: Supporting processes is performed to maintain
quality of the product or service developed by primary processes as well as it
ensures that products and processes comply with predefined provision and
plans. We can also say it helps our organization on day to day basic.
Example: As we are working as a business analyst at eBay, we will order
product from 3rd party distributors and will supply to our customer demand there
the supporting process roll will be to check the quality and defect of the product
before supplying it in the market
