Innocence
Ophelia is a young and noblewoman of Denmark,
and is the daughter of Polonius and the tragic
love interest of Prince Hamlet. She’s Innocent,
obedient, and very loyal. She’s further crushed by
Hamlet’s harsh rejection, she’s used as a spy by
her own father, and driven to madness after
Hamlet accidentally kills her dad, Ophelia
becomes the play's ultimate symbol of innocence
destroyed by corruption.
Fragile: Lacking the psychological armor
needed to survive the toxic, deceptive

my admiration
I admire Ophelia's quiet resilience in a world that
completely devalues her. She is constantly ordered
around, lied to, and used as a tool by the people she loves
most, yet she never becomes cruel or vindictive. Even her
descent into madness is filled with beauty, poetry, and art.
Her tragic end shows just how deeply she felt everything
around her, making her the most genuinely human and
heartbreaking character in the entire play. Dutiful: Wholly obedient to her father and
brother, even when it breaks her heart.
