Joints are classified as fibrous, cartilaginous, or synovial. Synovial joints enable movement through articular cartilage, synovial fluid, and capsules. Joint types allow specific motions. Menisci improve joint congruency and stability, while bursae reduce friction between tissues and bone, with inflammation termed bursitis.
