P1. Explore how effective customer service contributes to business
success
Customer service is the support and help a business provides to the customers. From
the very first start they enter the business or website both before they buy and use
the product or service.
Customer service involves to identify what the customers need to satisfy and
understand their problems to give them the right information and advice that they
need to get what they need and feel well treated. This makes the customers have a
good easy and enjoyable experience with the business.
Providing good customers service makes the businesses to grow more and retain the
customers at the same time gain more.
In this assignments I will be talking about 2 businesses.
One of Theo is Tesco and the Other one is IKEA.
Tesco is a British multinational groceries and general merchandise retailer with
outlets across Europe, USA and Asia and operates in 12 countries.Tesco is the market
leader in the UK. Tesco has around 450.000 – 460.000 employees and 7000 stores
worldwide.
Tesco has many functional areas within the business, but I will be talking about their
customer service in this assignment.
Receptionist: the receptionist are responsible for welcoming all colleagues
and visitors to tesco head office. Making sure they are welcomed friendly and
in a professional way. Be able to deal with the problems and complaints that
the customers have.
A good receptionist has to have good communication skills to be able to speak
and understand the customers complaints and be able to respond back.
Multitasking is important for a receptionist as it can be a long queue of people
while other important thing to do as well, then they have to be able to remain
calm while handling the stress. An important skill for a receptionist is to act
and solve the problems.
Customer assistant: customer assistant role is to help the customers to shop
and help them finding a product or serving on the checkouts. Also it could be
to fill the shelves, taking delivery or moving stock around the warehouse.
Most importantly is to helping the customers to provide them the information
and help they are needed.
