• He worked in both Broadway and ballet shows but was originally trained in ballet

First dance teacher, he got an apprentership at Gluck Sandor Dance Company through hi
who used to go there. At the company they trained in a contemporary ballet hyprid. Gluc
veteran of Broadway, burlesque and Vaudeville so had a lot of experience in Jazz dance wh
influenced him to expand Robbins' training. Sandor's influence on artistry, technique and
stuck with Robbins
Leonard Bernstein-
Composer, Pianist and author. Was the musical director for West Side Story and worked
Robbins for his ballet 'Fancy Free' and 'On the town' (Gene Kelly was inspired to make th
Fancy Free). Bernstein was known for his dynamic and expressive approach to conducting
both shared visions and broke traditional boundries by blending different art forms
Agnes De Mille-
Focused on dance and drama, and an influential American choreographer. Known for chal
her dancers to take acting classes as her works follow a narrative. She choreographed Ok
