1.1 Oral Activity and Objective (3)
Activity: “Community Helpers Role-Play”
Objective: Learners will work in pairs or small groups to role-play different community helpers (e.g.,
nurse, police officer, shopkeeper). One learner asks questions, and the other responds based on a
given role. This develops purposeful communication skills such as asking for/giving information and
expressing ideas clearly.
1.2 Builds on Foundation Phase Outcomes (2)
This activity builds on Grade 3 outcomes such as:
• Listens for specific information in stories and oral texts.
• Uses simple sentences to communicate needs, ideas, and feelings.
The role-play reinforces listening for detail and expressing responses appropriately, key
Grade 3 competencies.
