Method
This is how Milgram selected his participants.
• He placed an add in the paper, deceiving them
by not mentioning the true nature of the study
• The add referenced a study of memory and
learning
• He paid participants 4 dollars each
• He recruited 160 participants from 296
applicants, there were 40 males in the original
experiment

The participants became the teacher, they had to teacher the learner (a confedera

The learner must remember and repeat the words, if they got them wrong they w

The shocks would start at 15V and go all the way to 450V, in 15V intervals.
