Exercise Prescription
Exercise Prescription for Young children
Specific objective: For young children, they have not been doing many things with sport and they
have not experienced different types of sport, so what I want to do is I want to introduce them to
different types of activities that they can take part in. Which may help and introduce them sports
that they like so then they could pressure it in future.
The Guidelines form NHS is recommended for young children from age 3 to 19 to do 60 minutes’
worth of exercise every day whether it is intense or not. Also to make sure that the young children
are doing various types of activities.

Progression:
if the children are finding it too easy then I would progress it and make it hard so I would time them and
when they do the same thing again I would say that they need to beat it, therefore, they will be trying their
best to beat their score which means they will try harder.
However, if the young children are finding it too hard, then I would make sure to make it easier for them so
that they don’t quite and carry on so that they can finish the exercise or the training session so that I could
keep the engaged with in the training. Also not to knock their confidence and that they would feel better as
they can do it. All it would take is to decrease the level of intensity or change to make is similar so everyone
understands what they are doing.
Contra-indications:
If children ages 3-15 should avoid training weights as their body is not fully developed which could damage
