ISLAM: BELIEFS
LIFE OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH)
● M uhammad (pbuh) destroyed the idols which were in Mecca - emphasises
Tawhid
● Qualities of Muhammad (pbuh)
○ best role model: Serves Allah obediently
Sunnah teaches Muslims how to live the most moral life - to follow
Muhammad (pbuh) life teachings.
○ taught and lived by Qur'an
○ shows Muslims to abide by faith even when others reject it (eg when
Muhammad (pbuh) escaped Medina after his message was rejected
● Muhammad (pbuh) is a role model but isn’t to be worshipped as only Allah
is to be worshipped
OTHER PROPHETS
● Adam
○ Adam was the first man. Along with Eve, he sinned and when he
confessed his sins he became the first prophet.
● Ibrahim
○ He was the first person to teach that there is only one God and is
considered to be one of the greatest prophets.
LIFE AFTER DEATH (AKHIRAH)

● hen a person dies their soul is taken by Azra’il (the angel of death)
● God sends two angels to question the waiting soul:
○ If they answer correctly the soul will sleep during Barzakh
○ If they answer incorrectly the soul is tormented by angels known as
punishment of the grave
HEAVEN (JANNAN) & HELL (JANANNAM)
● annah has multiple levers

● No humans are in Jannah or Janannam yet
● It will be decided which they go to on the DAY OF JUDGEMENT
● The Day Of Judgement:
"It will be the Day when no soul shall have power to do] aught [anything]
for another"
