This is an in-depth, very detailed timeline of the 1C breadth study of the Tudors for AQA A Level Economics. The Timeline covers the whole of the '1C The Tudors: England, 1485–1603' section. This got me an A in History A Level and helped me to memorise all of my facts and figures. The Timeline itself is detailed and contains all figures and facts needed for each significant date. The whole timeline is 25 pages long and was really essential to me in my revision. It is also very easy to read as it is made as a table with 'date' and 'event'. Here is an example of 2 years on the timeline: 1532: -Fragile alliance with France (unravelled when France married Pope’s niece Catherine de Medici -Cromwell begins to replace conciliar government -Act in Restraint of Annates: Forbade payment to the Pope of up to 95% of Annates- henry hoped this financial penalty would encourage the pope to consider his position in regard to the annulment or risk losing the payment of annates entirely- (did not work so greater pressure applied next year in act in restraint of appeals) -Supplication against the Ordinaries: Petition attacking Church from the HOC- said Church was corrupt and should not have independent courts and laws from the State Submission of the Clergy: The Church/convocation surrendered its right to make laws independently, promised not to issue new laws (at this point Sir Thomas Moore resigned -December: Anne was pregnant (forced the speed of annulment issue) Archbishop Warham dies (replaced by Crammer, Henry’s own appointment, who was a complying -religious figure and able to marry Henry and Anne, and annul Catherine) 1533: -January: Anne and Henry secretly married (invalid according to Catholic Church) -April: Act in Restraint of Appeals: Final authority in all legal matters resided in monarch. Ensured that: Final verdict of Henry and Catherine’s marriage taken out of Rome’s hands, right of Pope to make decisions affecting Henry was declined, Catherine could not appeal to Pope —— led to ex-communication of King by Pope -Break with Rome -May: marriage between Henry and Catherine annulled by Archbishop Cranmer, Anne crowned after
