Key factors that influence health and safety in sport at
Lakes College
Compare:
The similarities that are the same between legislations, legal factor and regulatory bodies is that all
of them want to provide health and safety to the people. They want to apply this to people that are
working in different types of working environments such as indoor, outdoor activities also the
people that are doing different types of activities or they are customers of different types of fitness
industry or building environment all of them.

They want people to be safe when working in different types of working environments, for example,
outdoor and indoor facilities or even construction sites and lots of other different types of working
facilities that are included. They all require different types of equipment to complete their job
correctly and most importantly have the ability to do their job.

But every management (an environment that people work in) will require regulations such as first
aid in the workplace, you must have this in order to work as a lifeguard so they could save lives in an
emergency if anything happens when people are swimming and drown when swimming. However,
in construction, you would require to have personal protection equipment (PEE) such as a helmet or
correct footwear to do your job safety if an object drops they will be protected by the helmet or
hard shoes.

So different types of jobs require different types of regulations and legislation so they can complete
their job correctly and well, also be safe while working in dangers environment. Which means that
there must be different types of regulations and legislation in different types of workplaces to keep
people safe in the workplace. Because there are new types of dangers that could result in injuries or
be a hazard to people’s health that work in different types of working environments.

If there would be no first aid at work act which would mean lifeguards would be at risk of not saving
other peoples lives because they are not trained. Also if in the construction sites if they would have a
bigger chance of getting injured because they may not wear personal protection equipment and this
could result in death if something falls down on their head which could result in death or very series
injure. So it is important that in every different type of job there is implemented different types of
regulations and legislation so that people must follow in workplace so they could prevent risk or
hazard in workplace from happening by following the instructions for example control of substances
hazardous to health (COSHH) in swimming centre they must wear gloves to prevent chemical
reaction with humans skin when using, also (PPE) when using different types of chemical to
swimming pool to stabilize it also the chemical must be label thanks to (COSHH) so they know what
substances they are using for the pool. This is so people don’t get confused also people would not
drink it encase because it is labelled.

They want as fewer people getting injured because some injuries are at life-threating when working,
this can be people getting physical injuries, such as a bruise or broken bones and more, or mental
illness such as stressed, depressed all of this can happen in a workplace environment place. So
people that influence health and safety in sport are trying to prevent injuries like this from
happening so that the people are healthy and have good wellbeing and most importantly feel safe in
the work environment. This is so that people could work for longer and government could make
more profit from people because if people are all the time injured and they can’t work the
