Key factors that influence health and safety in sport at lakes c
Health and safety at work act
Health and safety at work act are there so that the standers of safety are high so that in the workplace. Employers and employees would be safe for work. Also, this will prot
a working environment. Example of those is taking a client through induction in the gym to show how to use machines correctly by the employee that works in the gym, so w
equipment he will not get injured when exercising by him/her self. This is done because it is a part of the health and safety at work act so that the gym staff must follow.
Another example of this could be a football referrer, A referrer would come maybe between 30-25 minutes before football athletes start warming up and before the game st
the pitch is a good standard to play in okay. So the referrer would check if there are any Sharpe objects on the pitch so that if there would be any Sharpe objects then player
playing. The referrer would clean it so that he would prevent accidents from happening when footballers play. Also if he can’t deal with it he would report it to someone is h
problem that he can’t deal with. Also if someone gets injured he would need to do a risk assessment on how it happened, how he would act so it never happens again and r
happened to the manager or someone higher than him so that they can pass it on that something happened and they can analyse it and see how they can prevent it. Also b
can’t deal with the problem such as a lot of objects lying around the pitch then he would after pass it to someone higher so that they can deal with it. If health and safety at
then a lot more injures would happen all around the place even in sport and working environment so it is important to have this act because it prevents athletes from havin
risk.
Personal protection Equipment (PPE) (2002)
Personal protection equipment or know as a PPE is designed for one purpose so that it would protect employees from serious workplace or sport inj
and safety of them when working in a working environment. This act was put first in place in 1992 and was updated last in 2002.
The equipment is there so that it can protect your health and safety, for example, the way that this is linked to sport is, for example, all of the team g
they are playing football they must wear shin pads and they have them on so encase when a horrible accident happens and the tackle went wrong a
two-foot the other person in the shin you will have protection so that it could minimize the injure/risk and if the act was not put in place and someo
then this could result in broken leg or something worse and this could potentially end someone's career and without this a lot of players and in work
people would be at risk of their health and safety of getting injured.
So PPE is there to make sure that fewer people are injured when they are playing their sport which this could include boxing were they must wear gu
they must wear correct clothes to their sport thanks to PPE. A lot of things are put in place so that this would decrease the rate of injuries and poten
Health and Safety (first aid) Regulation (1981)
This act was put in place in 1981 because there was a lot of incidents that happened around the world, not just UK which people couldn’t help othe
in an emergency situation because they were lacking in knowledge and experience which resulted in people dying or getting injured even more bec
them didn’t know what to do which means that they were not able to help people when they were in a working environment. Thanks to this act a l
good understanding of first aid which they can provide basic help because they have a good understanding of injures or what to do when a person
attack thanks to this act a lot of people are living because other people were able to save lives. It is important to have this because without this you
job for example lifeguards needs this because if someone drowns they would need to perform CPR or if someone gets injured in the gym they must
unit they could get an ambulance which is very important because if it was a big emergency which could risk a potential a person it is important to
possible which is why it is important to have first aid in a working environment so that you/others could save lives or be helpful by knowing what to
