Unit 1 D1 Analyse the importance of interrelationships within one
travel and tourism organisation.

TUI is publicly owned company that was introduced in 2007. The company deals in
passenger transport, travel agency, and accommodation to their customers. The company
serves excellent customer service to its customers in which the company can retain the
customers for longer and they will keep returning. Tui has more than 300 hotels that include
the brand like, RIU, grecotel, grupotel, iberotel and magic life as well as a fleet of more than
150 aircrafts. Tui have their own airline so they are able to use their own planes to transport
their customers to a number of destinations without having to rely on other companies,
they have their own aircrafts as they are independent and want to create their own profits.
With, Tui selling accommodation it allows them to sell different packages offering a wide
variety of different accommodations to their customers but if they didn’t work together
then they wouldn’t be able to sell different packages. It is also a tour operator, has its own
cruises, coach company transfers, excursion companies, insurance companies, Airline
Company and owns its own resorts & hotels and owns many travel agencies around the
world. TUI is a huge company owning three other tour operators which are First Choice,
Thomson and Thomas cook. These companies create a massive revenue per year and make
massive profits. They have many interrelationships with various companies which is similar
to Alton towers as they create relationships with other type of businesses who provide what
they do. These include coach companies to pick people up and take them to and from
places. These interrelationships are important because it helps them gain more success and
gaining profit from its customers. Tui and its other companies interrelate well with each
other as it helps customers to have a great holiday and they can rely on excellent service.
Tuis relationship between their tour operator and tui cruises is very important as it allows
tui to expand and appeal to new type of customers by offering a wide range of itineraries
and to travel to various destinations. If the tour operator didn’t work with the cruises then
they would miss their chance at appealing to new customers and as most companies don’t
have their own cruises tui would be making a huge profit and would be ahead of their
competition. Tui also aim to customers who prefer travelling on sea than fly to go on
holiday. These companies would benefit working together as they are able to offer
something different with their cruise packages. There is a package called cruise and stay
packages and these offer customers a chance to visit different cities and areas of a country
than just going on holiday and staying in one resort.
Tui also have a relationship with coach transfer companies, this relationship is important
because it allows Tui to ensure passengers luggage is safe and is getting well handled. If Tui
as a tour operator didn’t work with coach companies then their customers might be worried
in case they lose their luggage or the coach takes them somewhere else. Also, if they didn't
work with them then some tourists may have to sort out their transfers themselves which
can end up them being unhappy and not returning as it might lead to high prices and
companies taking advantage of them. This is why Tui benefit from working with them as it
comes in the package, this makes their customers are at ease and their customers can start
their holiday straight away and for that the customers are more likely to return back.
Tui also work with many different excursion companies as it lets customers to book different
trips and excursions which they know will be reliable and at a good price. Tui benefit with
working excursion companies as they both will make commission from selling these trips
