AE 421 - Week 2
Orthographic projection - ANS-a system of drawing views of an objection using
perpendicular projectors from the object to a plane of projection
Multi view - ANS-series of orthographic projections
Remember 3 things when defining a view - ANS-stationary point, plane of project,
projection vector
six basic views - ANS-top, front, bottom, left side, right side, rear (glassbox)
first angle projection - ANS-right side, front view next to each other; top view below front
view
third angle projection - ANS-top view, front view under top view, right side view next to
front view
distances can be transferred or projected from one view to another - ANS-true
only the views necessary to fully describe the object should be drawn - ANS-true
Single curved - ANS-curvature about a single axis
double curved - ANS-curvature about two axes or complex curvature
Contours - ANS-main outlines that separate it from surrounding space
oblique pictorials - ANS-one face is parallel to the plane, circular shapes parallel to view
are shown true to shape
