The job of the nervous system is to carry messages to
and from the brain and spinal cord to various parts of
the body.
This system is made of the central nervous system,
the autonomic nervous system and the peripheral
nervous system.
The central nervous system is made up of the brain,
the spinal cord, and a series of nerves. The job of the

processes, guide moment and register sensations
throughout the body. The spinal cord connects to the
brain through the base of the skull and down the spine. Optic nerves are found at the
back of the eye and carry visual information from the eye to the brain.
The peripheral nervous system consists of the nerves and ganglia outside of the
brain and spinal cord. The function of the peripheral nervous system is to connect
