likely in reference to the Bay of pigs invasion in which in 17 April 1961 1500 exiles had
landed in cuba to carry out a coup which was planned under Eisenhower which had failed
and humiliation in America with. its failure in causing a humiliation disaster under Kennedy.
The failure of the invasion had caused a split and a Soviet-Cuban relations

of the Usa. Its speech American which he outlines his response to the discovery of Soviet
missiles in Cuba. ….. .. in which Kennedy warning that any missile launched from Cuba will
be regarded as an attack by the Soviet Union on the United States and will be met with a full
retaliatory response. The source is valuably as it gives the perspective of the American Side
during the Cuban missile crisis. Kennedy had wanted to always protect Ameriinterestsrest/
Business in Cuba and maintain the Monroe Doctarine (1823). Which was seen with Cuba
having economic sanctions and a blockade
