Task 1: For this task you need to create a dummy guide to using word processing tools or
using presentation software such as PowerPoint for non-technical audience or non-

Guide for utilising Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint is similar to Microsoft Word but it lets the utilise the software in order to
create presentations. The user has the ability to design numerous slides and can implement different
methods and animations to their presentations to make it more attractive and appealing to the
audience.
The main factor that you would need to acknowledge when utilising Microsoft PowerPoint is the
Ribbon. The Ribbon is found on top of the page. It shows many tabs that help the user to create
their presentation. When you navigate through each tab, it will show you the options that you can
use to change up your PowerPoint presentation. These tabs are:
File: This tab is utilised for the user to save, create, share and export your PowerPoint presentation
file. It also allows you to print off your PowerPoint presentation.
Home: The home tab has the common tools that you would use in PowerPoint. It has tools ranging
from adding a new slide to modifying text in colour, font and size and putting shapes in your
PowerPoint Presentation.
Insert: The insert tab allows the user to add content to their PowerPoint Presentation to enhance
their presentation to the audience. It has every possible tool to add new content to a slide. The
content that you can add from the insert tab to your PowerPoint Presentation includes pictures,
charts, tables and videos.
Design: The design tab allows the user to implement themes and styles to make the PowerPoint
presentation look more visually attractive. There are numerous themes that you could use to restyle
your presentation
Transitions: The transitions tab allows the user to customise how each slide will appear on the
screen. It makes it more attractive and appealing for the audience
Animation: The animation tab allows the user to change how the text and pictures would be
introduced in the slide. It modifies the movement of each individual text or picture
