In this assignment, I shall describe the actons which are taken to reduce the risks to security whilst
using the internet.
Protectng a Computer System
Methods to reduce risks by simple processes that protect the integrity of data against malicious or
accidental alteraton, e.g., standard clerical procedures, passwords, levels of permited access, write
protect mechanisms, backup procedures, restoraton and recovery procedures.
When you use a computer or set up a computer for internet use, it is essental to protect it against
security threats it may face. A ‘frewalll is what protects computers or laptops from hackers who may
try to steal passwords, credit card numbers or delete data and crash your computer, causing
problems to the user. High priority systems are critcal, essental and reliable for computers. With
this, they ofer the latest high protectons against malicious online actvites. Antvirus protects the
computer from getng any malicious threats. If antvirus detects a possible threat against the
computer, it will notfy the user, ensuring that they be careful and know what they are doing. If a
business faces these threats, they must backup their data to ensure policies are adopted for staf
usage of the computer system.
