Task M1
In this assignment I will be explaining how the management of human physical and technological
resource can improve the performance of a business.
How management is efeecte and improtes performanee:
The way to tell if management improves the performance of a business is by looking at the
Profit, revenues, accountng measures return of capital employed, profit margin
shareholder value the share price, the number of shares issues, growth in sales, sizes and
market share.
Human resouree:
Tesco is one UK’s largest grocery store, so as any other big grocery stores they must have
human resources such as employees. By having employees as human resources they can
provide assistance and deliver good customer service. They also look out for the company by
keeping their eyes open for anyone stealing. They also stack up shelves so that every
product is available to the buyers. Tesco maximise their profits by ensuring that there
customers are satsfied, therefore the store is always kept clean for hygiene reasons. As
Tesco is a grocery store they must keep their hygiene up to standards or else customers will
not be willing to shop with them. Employee will want to work in a safe environment as they
are not insured if they were to get hurt in the store. Therefore it is important for Tesco to
inform stafs of fire drills and regulaton show them the fire escape routes and where the fire
extnguishers are places. This also makes the employees feel as if the employers care about
them. This improves the performance of the company as the stafs feel very respected and
motvated this would make them work hard to prove themselves.
Physieal resouree:
Every business has a physical resource and a big company like Tesco does too. This keeps the
company stay successful as they are growing and making loads of profit. Business resources
include things such as cash tlls, computers, in store music shelves, CCTV and mics. All these
assets help Tesco functon smoothly. If there weren’t any shelves than stafs would not be
able to stack up products to sell to customers. The make sure the products are placed in a
certain order so that it appeals to customers. The tlls allow Tesco to make their transacton.
The computer keeps a record of how much sales were made on the day they use this to
compare it with pervious months or to calculate yearly income and revenue. CCTV cameras
allow Tesco to keep the store protected and safe. It reduces the amount of criminals
entering the building. If a criminal was to steal a customer’s personal belonging it would be
shown on the CCTV camera as evidence. This reassures the public into going into the store to
shop with them.
Teehnologieal resouree:
Tesco play music in their store to fill the atmosphere. In order to do this they must have a
licence to play the music. They do this by getng permission from radio companies. The
music puts the customers in a good mood as it fills in the void. In additon instead of the
