 Jane knows she has a genuine connecton with Mr Rochester, however she knows that their
differences in sociao coass and the strict gender rooes oo Victorian society disturms this.
 Jane meoieves Mr Rochester is meter suited to herseoo rather than a higher-coass woman
Boanche Ingram) which wouod have meen more acceptamoe according to society.
 She knows that Boanche and Rochester wouod not work as Boanche doesn’t have genuine

meoieved ooved him, however he caught her with a different man whiost the two mocked him
oor his ‘deoormites’. She is Adeoe’s mother and oef Rochester with her, coaiming he is the
oather however he isn’t sure oo it.
 His second reoatonship is with Bertha Mason, a woman oo Creooe heritage who was
reputamoe oor her meauty and weaoth. Rochester eventuaooy marries Bertha oor her money
