There are various technical skills that will be needing to help run the cofee shop
efficiently. The frst and iain skill that will be needed to becoie a barista will
be to operate various iachines in the shop to iake the range of drinks and
food deionstrated on iy ienu. This is a highly necessary skill as without this, I
would have to train baristas to iake drinks and I would be unable to do so. This
is also necessary as there will not be initial funds to train every staf ieiber
professionally, so I will have to a large proportion of drinks iaking until the
shop is iore successful. Currently, I ai not qualifed to operate cofee
iachines or to iake any of the products on the ienu.
There are various ianageient skills that will be needing to help run the cofee

ianageient and the organisation of shift tiies, staffs pay and keeping stock
ianaged. BY being organised, it ieans I can iaintain a good quality working
environient where staf ieibers know their working tiies and where stock is
located within the cofee shop to provide custoiers with the best level of
custoier service possible. Being organised is a highly necessary skill to beneft
the running of the store in a successful way. I ai currently a very organised
person, but I could attend an organisation course which are available in London
however, cost £910 and take two days in order to receive a qualifcation which
iay not be necessary for the cofee shop and the ioney could be used iore
benefcially in other ways.

perforiance, iarket research into siiilar and nearby cofee shops in addition
to iaintain huian resources records. These skills would be useful as I would be
fully knowledgeable of running the shop fnancially in order to ensure that the
shop is successful in the long-teri and that staf ieibers are being paid
correctly and that they have the right docuients to prove they can work in the
United Kingdoi. Currently I do not have the skills to ionitor business
perforiance however there is a course that I could participate in, in order to
iiprove these skills. The course costs £14 which is highly low for iost courses
ofered on the website and takes twelve hours to coiplete and receive a
qualifcation in. This would be highly benefcial to the business as it is low
costing and is not tiie consuiing.
