Introduction

Recently, I have joined a web development company with the role of a junior web
developer. For my introduction to the company, I have been informed that I must select
two websites and to assess them. I will be choosing two different websites and writing
up an evaluation of both of them, comparing and thinking about how the ideas and
concepts of web design have been utilised in order to create sites that perform well and
are responsive. I will consider how the websites are appropriate for the right audience
and how the sites meet the standards of clients using them. Initially, I will begin by
picking two business websites that are different and conduct my research into them
both, the purpose of the websites (e.g. why the website has been created for people
and what it offers), and who the website is targeted at. Finally, the requirements of the
webpage. For instance, the features and fundamental concepts used in order to make it
appealing for its audience to use. Next, I will look into the main concepts of the web
design for two of the websites. These can be looking at how the site is layed out,
navigation, typography, colours and much more. The use of media and objects will be
discussed too since they are one of the most crucial parts of a website in order to allow
it to have a purpose.

For this, I will mainly be looking at and evaluating two websites that have similarities
within each other and are both used as business websites. These websites will be
‘Footasylum’ and ‘Morrisons’. The reason why I chose these websites was because they
both share the same features and are both based in the same country. Also, they both
allow their audiences to purchase from their services that they offer. For example,
‘Footasylum’ offers streetwear attire and ‘Morrisons’ offers groceries for customers.
Since these two websites both offer quite the same services towards people, it will be
obvious that they will share the same principles of website design on their sites which
meet client requirements.

The introduction & purpose of ‘Footasylum’ website

of selling their clothing, Footasylum has a number of physical locations, including over
65 high street stores, as well as an online website. The major purpose of Footasylum's
website is to enable its audience to explore and search for apparel that they will find
